I am flat out embarrassed but our bedroom curtains are finally up. It might have taken 1.5 years but by golly, it’s better late than never!
I have my excuses and I’m sticking to them:
2. This means I can’t reach the tops of my windows.
3. Before you ask, no we don’t have a ladder.
4. I didn’t want to be that wife and nag my husband about curtains.
5. Clearly, I have a reputation to uphold. Or a marriage to keep.
My awesome Red Beard did a fantastic job and I spared him the humiliation of snapping pictures as he positioned the nails and sturdied the rod. He was glad.
We scored an orb finish cafe rod at Tarjay for $13.99. The curtain panels were already owned (my mom lovingly made them for my first big girl apartment a few years ago) as were the curtain rings.

The freshly placed curtain rod. Already looking better! |
And since it took 17 months to hang these babies, below are pictures ad naseaum of this epic and momentuous moment.
p.s. You’re welcome to click away now. I won’t be offended.
p.p.s. That I’ve posted this occurence is just further proof for down the road when I need Red Beard to do something else for me and I have to remind him how long it better not take him. Kidding. Sort of.
Now, I’m off to enjoy an afternoon nap in the bedroom with my newly hung curtains.
I lvoe how the seam starts right at the bottom of the window perfectly! Gorgeous! This reminds me of myself.. as I have the best of intentions for decorating but somehow life seems to get in the way. Haha Cheers!
They look great! I like the fabric.
