Carving My First Pumpkin

Hello, I am 27 years old and have never carved a pumpkin. Tell me I’m not the last one to the pumpkin carving party? Mmmkay.

Mostly, it was a fun experience but I let husband do most of the work because he’s a pro. We should have waited a few days to carve it because several large gnat families decided it was the perfect place to get cozy. Gahross.

Since we don’t celebrate Halloween, we decided to carve something of more significance to us – a cross and a fish. Not too shabby especially for my first time.

On another note, is anyone else kind of sad that October is already behind us? Crazy. Now I’m going to go weep over the last can of pumpkin in my pantry and the nearly empty container of pumpkin spice.

I found your blog through The Pioneer Woman. Believe it or not, we carved our first pumpkin yesterday also. After twenty-three years in America, I too finally joined the pumpkin carving party. Thanks for sharing.

you did a wonderful job, especially since it was your first time! I love that you did a cross instead of the traditional pumpkin- it makes it meaningful! 🙂
