One day, I woke up and realized it was already November. Guess what? It is still November even if just for another few hours.
Technically, this spectacular cornucopia cake (made by my amazing madre and yes, it is entirely edible!) was made and consumed on October 29.
My parents hosted a family slash friends “Fall Celebration” to celebrate (duh) a bunch of birthdays and an anniversary (ours) and my mom truly outdid herself with this cake. Of course, the food was amazing, too! I think we all got a good head start on practicing our eating for Thanksgiving.
Before I wake up again and I realize December is here, I’ll throw in a few more November highlights. Some should really be considered lowlights. Like the perpetual laundry pile that resides in our spare bedroom. Anyone wanna come over and put away my laundry?
Alfajores from Uruguay. My brother brought this sweet treat back from his trip to Uruguay and I can’t wait to try and recreate these soon! Deliciousness. Party in my mouth.
Molasses Sugar Cookies. Such chewy delights! If I knew what crack was like, these would be my crack. I made another batch last week. They were a hit and definitely remind me of Christmas.
Thanksgiving was fun! Lots of great food & desserts, a long bike ride, strolling on 5th Avenue, giving a sweet doggie lots of love and attention, and messing with a cat that is the Devil’s spawn himself.
Miko, to the death. 😉
We need pics of the evil cat!!!
I think I could eat a slice of every pie….heaven.
All four pies look sooo good!!! I think i would like a slice of apple first, then a slice of the salted caramel please!
