A few weeks ago, my mom gave me some fresh papaya from her trees. Luckily, we didn’t have much of a winter here so the papaya trees were bountiful.

With a plentiful crop, one can only eat so much papaya before they start going bad. Trust me, it is not easy keeping up with the squirrels, who apparently love papaya like it’s going out of style.

We love animals (yes, even the pesky squirrels) but enough was enough and I came home with several papayas. With the warm weather we’ve been having, I clearly cannot get enough of icy beverages and nonsense.

What better way to enjoy (beside eating plain frozen chunks of papaya) this powerful fruit than in a smoothie! I love getting my vitamins in and sweet tooth satisfied all at once. It’s a win-win.

Let me know what you think if you give it a try. Some people (like my husband) can't even stand the smell of papaya! 🙂
This drink looks delicious! My bf is always trying to make all sorts of smoothies, I'll have to pass this along xx
ohh yummm!!

Yes, you taught me that. 🙂
Don't forget you can also freeze any fruit that is getting too ripe.
It definitely makes a difference if you've had a bad papaya. You may want to check at your local grocery store (or even a Hispanic one, if available) in the frozen section, as they sometimes carry frozen papaya. That's second best! 🙂
This sounds so good! I know papaya is really good for you. I've never had good papaya before. 😦
Looks delish! In dying to try it. I don't think I've ever had a papaya, so it will be something completely new. Loving the blog! Xo
Did you like it? Usually people either dislike papaya or love it. In smoothie form, it has a much milder flavor.
so weird that today was the first day i tried a papaya! i guess it's a sign 🙂
