It was lovely spending an extra day with my Red Beard, this past Labor Day weekend.
One of our favorite leisurely activities is being outdoors. Around here, there are plenty of outdoors activities.
On Saturday, we headed west about an hour to visit Pedernales Falls State Park.
Let me state for the record that even though it’s hot here in Texas, I continue to be amazed at the gorgeous scenery!
Since we’re in Hill Country, I realize that not all of Texas looks this way. Yes, are we blessed to live among such beautiful country.
It has hardly rained this summer. The photo below shows where a portion of the falls are supposed to flow down into the river. We walked all over that rock area and see the little cave opening in the middle-left right above the rock? That was our little secret spot we found while exploring.
Seriously, the water was as blue as pool water. I couldn’t stop ‘oohing’ and ‘aahing’.
Here below is the secret little cave area I mentioned above. We sat here, dangling our feet in the cold water for a while. It was simply peaceful and the cold water felt so, so good.
Stay tuned for Part 2 of our Labor Day weekend adventures!
