Over the past few years, I have really come to appreciate the versatility of running. It was one of those things I didn’t really give much thought to when I first started running. Dare I say, it was something I took for granted. The ability to do this sport anywhere without having to hunt down a playing field or swimming pool has its’ perks.
One thing I remember about my university days was how I would go for a quick run around campus. I could literally park the car anywhere, find an open restroom to change into my running clothes and take off for a run. Easy! Another time I loved were beach day trips and the ability to be able to run while soaking up some rays. All I had to do was pack socks, running shoes and some shorts. Boom. Run on the beach, done.
Unlike many other sports where you need special equipment, other teammates or specific locations, running can be done anywhere. Whether I’m at home or traveling, all I need are shoes and a willingness to go out and run.
This is why I run.
