Over the past month, I have written about all the reasons I run. It has been such a great exercise (no pun intended) not just with my writing but also a good way to pause and think about why I make the daily choice to run. Often times, in the rush of life it is easy to just go about my way and keep doing my routine without really stepping back and wondering why.
A recurring, underlying theme is how running is a lifestyle choice for me. Running didn’t always come easy for me. However if there’s one thing I am, it is persistent and stubborn. I knew that with discipline
, running would slowly become second nature. I wanted it to be my lifestyle. Here I am now, seven years later and living the lifestyle I dreamed of. Being blessed with the ability, health and desire to run whenever, wherever is not something I take for granted.
Having an active lifestyle has so many benefits. From my health
to being surrounded by community
, running is a part of who I am. It is ingrained in my very being. Running is a passion which I hope to continue exploring and enjoying for the rest of my life. It is a journey I never want to end. God willing, I’m going to be a little old lady who still runs. Now wouldn’t that
be a humorous sight?!
This is why I run.
