Because every so often, I come across some great stuff and feel the need to share it. Happy reading and happy Labor Day weekend, friends.
(*edited to add another link I forgot)
Christian mothers carry their children in hostile territory. When you are in public with them, you are standing with, and defending, the objects of cultural dislike. You are publicly testifying that you value what God values, and that you refuse to value what the world values. And so many more nuggets of truth!
*Speaking of children, this thought provoking post by Mary Beth about the essential sanctity of life is worth reading.
Of toddlers and truth. It’s never too early to prepare myself for this to happen.
Such a great post on validation versus opportunity. Yes, yes, and yes.
I’ve never made a dessert in the slow cooker, especially not a fancy one but this creme brûlée looks amazing.
Seven steps to taming the tantrum. There are some really good ideas here I could see myself trying out in the future, once our toddler actually comprehends the “talking about things” part of discipline.
My sweet friend Monica just released her very first e-book this week, titled “The Secret of your Naturally Skinny Friends.” Y’all, this book is such a good, good read. I will definitely be writing a separate post (at some point!) but for now, just know that you NEED to read it. Chances are, it will impact you in some way because there’s a message in there for everyone.
Wow, I feel like this author totally got into my mind with this post about being afraid of falling. Bravo.
The art of the power nap, even as a busy mom with a toddler and infant. I tried this twice this week (on the only two days where both kids naps overlapped) and am now a believer. It worked and I learned that no other task is more important than these crucial 20 minutes.
Finally, this is sort of random but I’m thinking about getting these dining chairs (in either black or white) that totally have an Eames air about them, but for way cheaper. Do they look toddler proof enough? Haha, that’s my test for everything these days.
p.s. I know I’ve been sort of quiet around here lately with posting regularly or even just sharing a solid, deeper post, other than these weekend links. There’s so much swirling around in my mind, some of which I’ve journaled or scribbled down that hasn’t gotten beyond pen & paper and even more of it which hasn’t been penned. As I continue adjusting to our “new normal” of life with two little ones, I pray that God will allow me to find the time to share some of those thoughts. I truly appreciate those of you who continue reading along and supporting me. It means the world to me. xo
